LeTasha & Zak

Everyone has their own story, the tale of events, triumphs and failures that lead them to be who they are today. Everyone also has a hero to that story, someone who was able to step in and make sense of the chaos around them. For me, Zak is my hero. He has taken me from a place of self doubt and fear into a life that I wouldn’t change for anything. He has been very open and supportive as I have gone through a lot of changes in my life and has been there with me the entire way. He has graciously embraced my son and the responsibility that comes with us. We only recently decided that we wanted to make our family official. We are now ready to take that next step in life to become husband and wife and can’t wait for all of our family and friends to witness the amazing people we have helped each other to become. The day means the world to us, and we would love the opportunity to make it even more magical. We are looking forward to our happ y ending and see our wedding as the opening to this new and wonderful chapter. Our wedding will be a moment of beauty and love not just for us, but also for those of you who helped us to get to this point. We ask that you now help us to make certain that its all we have dreamed it could be.

Jennifer and Derek A

Its funny when your not looking for somebody to spend the rest of your life with, you stumble on the person you can’t live without. That is how we feel about eachother. We giggle on the fact on how we met a year and a half ago, it was May 2008 I had moved to Amarillo, TX and had only been there a month before I decided to have a girls day out. Derek had his first guy night in months and when he caught my eye I whispered to my friend “wow, he is gorgeous”, my shy friend, who had several drinks that night, walked up to Derek and told him that I was crushing on him. I could see out of the corner of my eye, Derek was checking me out, and when I was on the dance floor he came and started to dance with me. I now know that Derek was not the “Dancer” so it was really a good thing he came out to the dancefloor with me. We remember being at a cookout at his sister’s house, we had already been talking for a month, when his nephew walked up to him a nd said “Derek is this your girlfriend”, he looked at me and then back at his nephew and said “Yes, Xavion she is my girlfriend”. We moved back to Lubbock, in April 2009 and with every storybook relationship you always have a chapter that isn’t so pretty to read. Life was testing our love and being in the situation we were in it got the best of us, and instead of making eachother’s lives miserable we called it quits. After being apart for three months, everything we did just took us back into the memories we had being together. Every song on the radio took us back to when we danced and sang like goofballs in the car driving on our way to his little brother’s hometown football games. After all we have gone through we have proven to one another that we can’t live without eachother, and the tiny misunderstandings are not worth losing the person you want to grow old with. We are meant for eachother and our love has proven to be strong, and we are ready to devote ourselves to eachother and walk hand in hand through life and all of it’s blessings.

Tracy & Derek R

Derek and I had a complicated beginning. We met at a bar (I know, sounds cliche) and at first we just dated casually. Then I found out I was pregnant with Grace, and things got serious really quickly. Although it was rocky at first, we worked it all out. For the first 2 years of Grace’s life she was sick and was hospitalized twice for seizures. During those trying times is when I realized that Derek was the man I wanted to be with forever. Christmas day of 2006, on our way to a family dinner, Grace had her first seizure, and we ended up spending that day in the ER. That night she had another one & we had to go back, so our Christmas that year was spent at the hospital. The next day, Derek proposed. He’d wanted to do it on Christmas to give me an awesome present, but circumstances weren’t ideal, obviously. I immediately said “YES!!!” and was super excited to start planning! Then, on New Year’s Eve 2006, I found out I was pregnant aga in!! So the next year proved busy, with Grace going to daycare and both Derek & I working full-time. Grace was hospitalized again in April 2007, luckily for the last time. And in August 2007, Dylan was born. So, needless to say, wedding planning went on the backburner. Derek & I had decided, after a bad experience with daycare, that I would stay home with the kids while he worked. It was a risky move, especially with the economy tanking and his job being commission-based, but we felt it was the right decision for our family. Derek works extremely hard so I can stay home with our kids, but there’s not a lot of wiggle room in our budget to pay for a wedding, even a small, casual affair. I’ve been engaged for almost 3 years now, and I would love to be able to finally marry the man of my dreams, the father of my children, my complete opposite, and my soul mate (those are all Derek, by the way).
