Me and Ricky met July 11, 2007. From there we began dating and got serious pretty quick. In February of 2008 we moved into a duplex together, on April 18, 2008 I found out I was expecting. Three months later we were told we would be having a baby girl. September 20, 2008 we got engaged, and have been since. December 17, 2008 Preslee Elizabeth was born and my life was just about complete. Ricky and myself come from two way different lifestyles. Ricky was raised in Burleson, Texas. Burleson is a suburb of the Fort Worth area. Ricky moved here to go to South Plains and be with his friends. Ricky grew up not having much, as he would say. Ricky started working at Western Dairy Transport when he moved up here, WDT is a dairy farm. On a average week Ricky is working anywhere from 70-90 hours. Rickys ambition and goals in life are to always make sure his family is more than taken care of. We do pretty well for ourselves, but we have no “us” time. Me on the other hand, I have 12 hours of internet courses right now through South Plains, Im taking care of Preslee 24*7, working 40+ hours a week, and trying to be a fiance. I have attempted to plan a wedding but, in the end I had no time, became extremely stressed out, and realized it was not in our budget. Wedding planning is not easy, I lasted 2 weeks! With Rickys family not having much and mine barely being above average e our wedding is really no ones top priority. Ricky would be happy with just going down to the courthouse, I can’t do that. I might not ever be married. I don’t want to look back in 10 years and have regrets. I have a very big heart and believe I am truly a good person. If me and Ricky were to win this it would truly be a blessing! I can’t say that I have done a whole lot for the community but, I have helped raise thousands of dollars for different charities (Make-a-Wish, Womens Protective Services, Buckners Children, etc.) I really want to be married before my daughter is old enough to wonder why her mommy and daddy aren’t married yet. I hope that we can win this and finally have the wedding we both want. Thank you so much!
