Last Saturday was the Dream Wedding. It was a beautiful, fun filled evening. Magen and Ricky were so appreciative for their gift and truly soaked in the whole evening. Thanks to all of Lubbock for helping us pick such a deserving, appreciative and humbled couple! *This is always an amusing story to tell-we met at a drive thru of a McDonalds through mutual friends.

2. How long have you been together?

*We were very good friends before we started dating but we have been together for three years.

3. What would winning the Dream Wedding mean for you?

*Winning the dream wedding would mean the world to us! We would love to provide our children with a stable environment and join our bond together as one. This is the ultimate phase in a relationship and we are more then ready to began our lives together as a married couple!

4. What quality do you most treasure about each other?

*Jenny-”Aside from Gabby being a total stud muffin, I love how Gabriel can always make me laugh. I would be lucky to spend the rest of my life with this man!”

*Gabriel-” I love how beautiful she is and how much fun we have with each other and that she is a great mom and hopefully a great wife if we win the contest.

5. When life get stressful we often….

*When life gets stressful we tend to spend more of our time with our children. Our children have brought so much joy to our lives and we are truly blessed to have them.

*Together and stronger then ever! We see us both successful and financially stable taking our boys to their baseball games. Ultimately, we see us HAPPY!

*We currently attend church every Sunday at Church on the Rock and we are planning to help build the Dream center. It is a place where children can go to have fun and learn about God in order to keep them off the streets. Gabriel’s sister lives with us currently and we help her out so that she can finish her schooling at TTU.

1. Tell us about the first time you saw each other?

Well we have always gone to school together, but we never really noticed each other till high school! It is funny because at first i really was not interested and only seen him as a friend. Now I am crazy about that boy!

2. How long have you been together?

We have been together almost two years!

3. What would winning the Dream Wedding mean for you?

Winning this would help out in many ways. It would allow us to have a great wedding that we otherwise could not afford. It would make us the happiest couple ever.

4. What quality do you most treasure about each other?

There are so many things i could say about Raymond. He is amazing, and can always me smile. He knows how to treat a girl and has so much love for me. I admire him the most for the great father that he has been to our beautiful son. He is such a great listener, and always seems to know what to say. Of course we have our little fights now and then but who doesn’t? No relationship is perfect and anyone who thinks that is crazy. He is someone who never lets little things get to him. He has so much ambition, and tries with everything he does, even if he does not want people to see that. I am so blessed to have someone like him in my life. He has the biggest heart and would help anyone out and those are the qualities i love most about him.

When i asked Raymond what qualities he most treasured about me he said everything. He said he likes the way i act around him, and who he is when he is with me. He really wouldn’t go into much detail; he just said he loves everything about me and that he couldn’t put it into words!

5. When life gets stressful we often….

We talk to each other about our problems. We never let bad times get the best of us. We have over came many challenges with our heads held high. When things become too much for us to handle, we just take a deep breathe and look around at everything god has blessed us with. Especially our beautiful son, he always seems to make things better.

6. In 10 years I see us…….

Happily married, with at least two kids! I will hopefully be working as a RN; i hope to become a school nurse! Raymond sees himself as working as a windmill technologist. We will hopefully have a beautiful home and be living life the best we can!

7. The heart of this contest is to give back to those who give what do you do to give to the community or will you do anything to give back to the community if you win

I think that by becoming a RN i will be giving back to the community. I will be helping people in times of illness when they can not help themselves. Hopefully as time passes and both our careers get going we will find many more ways to give back to the community.

1. Tell us about the first time you saw each other?

The first time we saw each other was at church and we had an immediate connection that lasted us through the hardest times of our lives.

2. How long have you been together?

Adam and I have been together for 9 amazingly wonderful months.

3. What would winning the Dream Wedding mean for you?

It would mean so much! Not only would it show that our friends and family care for us but that Lubbock thinks we should have this. It would help us out so much! I’m living in California while Adam is in Lubbock and we are saving in case we dont win. If we win would have an amazing wedding that we wouldnt be able to have otherwise.

4. What quality do you most treasure about each other?

We treasure the love we have for our children. He is an amazing father to both of his sons and he praises me for being a loving and caring mother.

5. When life get stressful we often….

Stop and talk about what is going on and try to solve the issue before it can take a toll on us.

6. In 10 years I see us ……

Happy in our early thirties with 2 more children excelling in our careers and making the best out of life and our family.

I would love to go and help feed the homeless after I moved back.

Whitney & Joe H

1. Tell us about the first time you saw each other?

Well a funny story about that one. When we were in elementary school my best friend had the biggest crush on Joe. I always made fun of her because I thought he wasn’t even the slightest bit cute. However eight years later I was dating his best friend, who had introduced us. Joe says he always thought I was attractive. And the feelings by then were mutual. Soon after that I broke up with his friend because I did not want to be in the dating scene right then, but Joe changed all that. I wanted to give Joe my number without just outright saying it. I got his number and called him in the middle of the night (that way my number would show up). Just like I suspected he texted me the next day.

2. How long have you been together?

We actually started dating on December 14, 2007 and then got married on May 18, 2009 and we love every millisecond of it of course we argue but no matter how big the argument we always work it out together.

3. What would winning the Dream Wedding mean for you?

For me the dream wedding would mean everything to me and not because its about me but because it’s about Whitney, she has been through so much I couldn’t even understand the slightest bit and ever since we started talking she has told me that she could always see herself in a white dress as her brother walks her down the aisle. And in my opinion she deserves her dream wedding but I knew that it would be years before I got to give her that.

4. What quality do you most treasure about each other?

What do I treasure most about Whitney???? Hmmmmmm. That’s a hard one. I treasure everything about her how she walks, laughs, smiles, cheers me up, how her nose flares up and her face turns red when she’s mad. But most of all I treasure how much she loves and cares about our family without her I would not be able to do all we have done.

5. When life get stressful we often….

Argue! LOL… but who doesn’t we argue then try to see it from the others perspective if I do something to make Joe mad I try to put myself in his shoes and ask myself if I would be mad if he did it. We always figure it out if it’s about money or each other eventually we figure everything out. Most of all we tell ourselves that no matter what we will be ok. That everything will be ok.

6. In 10 years I see us ……

I see us enjoying life and living everyday to the fullest but yet still take the time to slow down and smell the roses’, and reflect on all the good stuff going on in our lives, as well as make time to spend with our family. I see Whitney as a RN or a doctor if she would like to pursue her studies that far.

7. The heart of this contest is to give back to those who give, what do you do to give to the community or will you do anything to give back to the community if you win.

- We have done a lot of things throughout the past to give back. Including participating in rely for life, volunteering at community nursing homes. We both have done random things to help the elderly in our community also.

We have a six month old son that mean the world to both of us. We appreciate all of our family in voting for us and the community members that have voted for us. Thank You!

1. Tell us about the first time you saw each other? Sad to say the first time we met was at a bar. Hey it happens, we were young!

2. How long have you been together? Ricky & I have been dating now for two and half wonderful years!

3. What would winning the Dream Wedding mean for you? Everything, we have been engaged for over a year now. Having my wedding would be the beginning of our life together. We are both constantly too busy with work, Preslee, school, and each other that unfortunately our wedding has been delayed. There is no doubt we will spend the rest of our lives together, we just need some help getting there.

4. What quality do you most treasure about each other? Ricky & I are two VERY different people. We each find qualities in the other that we don’t see in ourselves. Ricky is wonderful about putting his family first and foremost. Ricky would say I’m good at decorating our house and always trying to keep everything FUN! We are different but, I think that’s what helps balance our relationship out.

5. When life get stressful we often…. We both have our own little remedies to help our stress. I like pampering myself when I feel stressed out. Ricky likes watching sports and drinking “a cold one.” (As he would say)

6. In 10 years I see us …… With a BIG family in a BIG house! Family comes first in our relationship; therefor, we hope to have a big one! I hope by this time we will both be financially stable and that I will be done with college.

The heart of this contest is to give back to those who give, what do you do to give to the community or will you do anything to give back to the community if you win: In a previous job I had we helped to raise money for various charities. I have helped give back to Make-a-Wish, Women’s Protective Services, Buckners Children, etc. We have donated a lot of our unwanted, but still in great condition, clothes, furniture, shoes, etc. I would like to do more community work in the near future, it always seems to be very rewarding!

1. Tell us about the first time you saw each other?

We met in my home town in Santa Rosa NM. It was Labor Day weekend and he was there for a softball tournament. We were introduced by a friend of mine and we spent the whole weekend together. I had come out of a horrifying relationship and felt I wasn’t going to trust ever again. But that weekend was so wonderful I came to Lubbock to see him the following weekend. The first two years were long distance and a lot of traveling. Then I made the choice to move here and it has been the best thing I have ever done!

2. How long have you been together?

September 3rd was our 14th year anniversary of being together. I think it is time we do this!!!

3. What would winning the Dream Wedding mean for you?

Ever since we met I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this man. We have always planned to get married but the expense is what hurts. But money isn’t what makes us. We just want to be able to share our love with all our friends and love ones. We are still young at heart but our parents are not (LOL). My grandmother who I love so dearly has gotten very ill. She helped raise me and has always been there for me. She was just diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. The last few weeks she has gotten worse and its so hard seeing her like this. Me and my sister have a joke that if I don’t hurry up and do this that she is going to remember me as the one who never got married. I want my grams to share this memory with us before she can’t remember who I am.

4. What quality do you most treasure about each other?

No matter what happens there is never a dull moment with us. Whether it’s a serious moment or nothing happening at all we always make each other laugh. We entertain ourselves just sitting at home. Just one look at each other puts a smile on our faces.

5. When life gets stressful we often....

Never, Never let it get us down. We plan a day to spend together, go to a show, cook a meal together and watch a movie, or just hide for awhile and snuggle and take a nap. We have learned life is too short to stay mad and have experienced what stress can do and pan to never go there again!

6. In 10 years I see us……

Growing old together and enjoying life…LOL. I am planning to go back to school in January and since then he has talked about it too. We both have worked with LISD for a long time and work with kids with behavior and disabilities. I’m going to major in Child Physiology Behavior Specialist and He wants to become a counselor for behavioral kids.

We both believe there are not “Bad Kids”. They are just misunderstood. There are kids out there that family and society has given up and given a bad label. Sometimes adults forget what it was like as a kid and it’s a power struggle. Kids now days grow up so fast and know more than we give them credit for. That’s what Champ wants to change and make a difference. Me on the other hand I love Gods children that are less fortunate than others due to physical and mental disabilities. They are just like anyone else with dreams and goals too. Once again they are just misunderstood. We want to change the way society and the world sees these kids and if it takes the rest of our lives to do so then we will die trying.

8. Anything you want to add:

We were made for one another. Like the cute sayings: He is the Peanut to my Butter, The Pop to my Tart, and defiantly the Fruit to my Loop, or maybe that one is the other way around. LOL. No we are not perfect, not rich, and don’t have a high standing in the community but we are honest, hard working, fun loving, big hearted, and so very crazy in love!!!!!!
